As Peter said you need a higher version of PHP to run Joomla 5. Change Host. If Hostgator strongly supports a totally outdated version of PHP (not only for Joomla!), they are crap (I know they are). They are obsolete, do not keep their servers up to date, and blame external scripts for their own crap. Move to someone better!How do I change the minimum mandatory requirements for Joomla 5? I am on Hostgator and they seem to think it is perfectly normal to run MySQL 5.7.23-23 instead of something newer.
